Diamond Blade Break-in Instructions

To help ensure optimal performance and extend the life of your blade, the saw should be operated at 1/2 its normal forward speed for the first 100 lineal feet of cutting. This allows the diamonds to open up and let the blade run cooler, helping it perform better.

The Soff-Cut system from Husqvarna is the industry’s most advanced ultra-early entry dry-cutting system, utilizing unique up-cut blade rotation and specially designed hardware for cutting concrete slabs with a spring-loaded skid plate and patented blade block. These components apply a consistent, controlled amount of surface pressure during cutting. This allows for controlled early-entry stress relief, resulting in significant improvements in cracking, chipping and spalling, which is especially important on critical early entry applications (0–2 hour after finishing).

The “Green Zone”

Cutting too early can cause “thermal shock” to the concrete, which has a negative effect on the performance of the blade and also reduces cut quality. The 0–2 hour period, when cutting is recommended, is known as the “Green Zone.”
